Don’t gag whistleblowers
Eleven states have introduced so-called “ag-gag bills” in 2013, and all have failed because of strong public outcry – except in North Carolina.
Transparency in our food supply is a fundamental right, and the N.C. Chamber of Commerce’s attempt to keep Americans in the dark is appalling. Gagging those who expose animal cruelty and food-safety issues on factory farms puts our food supply in jeopardy, and the chamber should be ashamed.
If you agree that animal abuse should be exposed not hidden, now is the time to make your voices heard.
Please call your lawmakers today and urge them to oppose Senate Bill 648, the ag-gag bill.
