Town Square concert series

In Clayton, the Town Square concert series continues Thursday, June 20, with the Central Park Band, which will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. on the Town Square, 110 W. Main St. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Food and drink, including beer and wine, will be available. For more information, visit www.downtownclayton.org.

Music for lunch

“Music for the Lunch Bunch” will continue at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at First Presbyterian Church, 215 S. Third St., Smithfield. Kathi Nixon, an English and drama teacher at Corinth Holders High School, will sing and play the guitar. Her son, Hinton, will sing and play the mandolin and fiddle. His sister, Georgia Kate, will sing and play the mandolin. Admission is free, with donations accepted. Drama group seeking members

A drama group is seeking members in the Clayton area. All levels of interest and experience are welcome. The group will collaborate on pieces by playwrights such as Arthur Miller, Clifford Odets, Eugene O’Neill, Henrik Ibsen and more. For more information, call Camille Sprague at 910-315-4529.

Book club

The Public Library of Johnston County and Smithfield welcomes new members to its evening book club. Meetings are at 6:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month.
