Music for lunch

This summer’s “Music for the Lunch Bunch” will continue at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, at First Presbyterian Church, 215 S. Third St., Smithfield. Violist Thomas Howerton will perform.

Booking signing in Clayton

Romance writer Lauren Boyd will sign copies of her debut novel, “Baking Love,” from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 14, at Pauper’s Books and More, 11731 U.S. 70 Business, Clayton.

Pottery camp

A pottery camp for children ages 8-15 is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon July 15-18 at the Smithfield Recreation and Aquatics Center, 600 E. Booker Dairy Road, Smithfield. The cost is $85 for Smithfield residents and $100 for nonresidents. The materials fee is $20.

Clayton Youth Theater

Clayton Youth Theater will present “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” at 7:30 p.m. July 26-27 and Aug. 1-3 at The Clayton Center, 111 E. Second St., Clayton. For more information, or to purchase tickets, call 919-553-1737 or visit www.theclaytoncenter.com.

Johnston Chorale seeking voices

The Johnston County Chorale welcomes new voices. Starting Aug. 26, rehearsals will run from 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays at First Baptist Church, 202 S. Fourth St., Smithfield. Drama group seeking members

A drama group is seeking members in the Clayton area. All levels of interest and experience are welcome. The group will collaborate on pieces by playwrights such as Arthur Miller, Clifford Odets, Eugene O’Neill, Henrik Ibsen and more.

Army band at JCC

The 440th Army Band will play an Independence Day concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, in the Paul A. Johnston Auditorium at Johnston Community College, 245 College Road, Smithfield.

JCC will accept donations for the show, with proceeds going to performing arts at the college.

Book club

The Public Library of Johnston County and Smithfield welcomes new members to its evening book club. Meetings are at 6:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month.
