High School: Corinth Holders

Height, Weight: 6-foot-2, 180 pounds

Position: Wide Receiver

Why Shenandoah? “I liked the fell of the whole place. They’ve got a new staff, facilities and the program has that real college football feel.”

Major: Kinesiology

Also Considered: Bridgewater, Greensboro, Averett

Notable: It’s the simple things that John will carry away most from his days in the purple and gold of Corinth Holders, like attending summer football camp at Campbell University with the team. “We just got closer and closer each year at that camp,” he said. ... He averaged 40 yards receiving a game as a senior and caught four touchdown passes. … Improving his speed is the biggest area John feels like he needs to improve moving onto college ball. “I feel like my route running and catching are where they need to be,” he said. “And you can always get bigger and stronger.” … He wants to go into the physical therapy or be a nutritionist.

Corinth Holders coach Barry Honeycutt: “John’s got tremendous passion and can play anywhere, willing to play special teams and is a really good blocker.”
