Notable: Hunter had offers to play football in college as well but liked the challenge that collegiate wrestling offered him. “I didn’t grow up wrestling since age 7 like most guys who get the chance to wrestle in college,” he said. “To have that opportunity at the next level is something I find really challenging.” … The atmosphere he felt in the Pembroke wrestling program also helped sway him to the mat instead of the gridiron. … Hunter won 48 matches as a senior, wrestling at 195 pounds. He won five of the seven individual tournaments he participated in last season as well. He totaled 111 career victories. … In football, Hunter was a senior captain starter at middle linebacker. He also played offensive line.
