After all of the rough news coming out of Raleigh, it was a pure delight to go to The Clayton Center to see “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”
I have been involved in theater for years, and these young people did an amazing job. Sure, a few notes were weak, but the overall effectiveness of the show was worthy of professional theater. Sophisticated staging, costuming and lighting added to the wide range of singing and dancing styles that are so indicative of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s work.
All of Clayton should be thankful for what Nikki Dyke envisioned and created in forming the Clayton Youth Theatre. And we should all be proud of these young people who created a wonderful theatrical experience for those lucky enough to see it.
