JCI store offers furniture, electronics
Johnston County Industries has opened an office furniture and electronics store at 912 N. Bright Leaf Blvd. in Smithfield. JCI says the store will offer high-end, affordable, commercial-quality desks, chairs and electronics.

Business After Hours
The Smithfield-Selma Chamber of Commerce will hold its next Business After Hours on Tuesday, Oct. 1.
The social, sponsored by Four Oaks Bank, is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Smithfield Town Hall, 350 E. Market St.
A free seminar on scams and fraud is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at the Smithfield-Selma Chamber of Commerce office, 1115 Industrial Park Drive, Smithfield. Caroline Farmer, a deputy in the N.C. Attorney General’s Office, will speak. Expo seeks vendors
The Smithfield-Selma Chamber of Commerce is seeking vendors for its 2013 BB&T Business Expo, which will take place Wednesday, Oct. 30, at the Johnston County Agricultural Center. The annual business trade show draws more than 40 exhibitors and nearly 1, 000 attendees.
This year’s expo will offer two distinct marketing opportunities. Business-to-Business will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Community marketing will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The latter will also be time for the community to bring children for trick-or-treating.

Notary Public – The class is required for anyone wishing to apply through the N.C. Secretary of State’s Office to be commissioned. Students must be 18 or older and have a GED or high school diploma.
