Tony Erwin Sullivan, age 63, of Selma died on Monday, October 7, 2013 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born in Johnston County on April 27, 1950, he was the son of the late Jasper Irving and Inez Worley Sullivan. Tony was also preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Garner Sullivan and his brother-in-law, Robert F. Pittman.
Tony was a loving and faithful son, caring for his mother until her death. He worked in the Accounting Department at ECU after graduation. He later returned to Johnston County and operated the Oak Grove Inn Convenience Store near Micro and the Silver Eagle Pawn and Hobby Shop in Selma. Tony also worked at Channel Master in Smithfield and was currently Second Shift Supervisor at Natvar in Clayton.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM in Selma Memorial Gardens with Elder Harold Pittman officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday at Parrish Funeral Home from 9:30 until 10:45, just prior to the service.
Surviving are his sister Linda S. Pittman of Kinston; his nephew Alex Pittman, his wife Robin and children Sullivan and Avana of Apex; his faithful companion Blossom; special family Allen, Tammy and Ashley Johnson of Selma; and many loving, caring and supportive relatives, friends and co-workers.
