Pour It and Paint
“Pour It and Paint” is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Smithfield Recreation and Aquatics Center, 600 E. Booker Dairy Road, Smithfield. Bring a bottle of wine and paint in a relaxing atmosphere. The Smithfield Parks and Recreaton Department will provide canvas and paint. The cost is $35 per person. ‘Music Man’ at JCC
The Neuse Little Theatre will present “The Music Man,” a musical by Meredith Wilson, at 3 p.m. Nov. 17 in the Paul A. Johnston Auditorium at Johnston Community College, 245 College Road, Smithfield. Admission is $18.
Photos, fiber art on display in Clayton
Works by photographer Rhonda Peters and fiber artist Maureen Wartski are on display this month at The Clayton Center, 111 E. Second St., Clayton.
Peters is a retired optometrist who moved to Goldsboro in 2007 after spending most of her career in Chicago. She has been behind a camera since 1987. In 2012, she won the Clayton Art Faire Award of Excellence in photography.
Wartski, a Raleigh resident who was born in Japan, has studied art in Japan, Thailand and the United States. In addition to creating fiber art, she has written nearly 50 novels.
The exhibit runs through Dec. 1. Admission is free. The Clayton Center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Art class for toddlers
Doodlebugs, an art class for children ages 18 months to 3 years, meets from 9:30-10:15 a.m. Fridays at the Smithfield Recreation and Aquatics Center, 600 Booker Dairy Road, Smithfield. Children experiment with dough, pudding, gelatin, crayons and watercolors. For Smithfield residents, the cost is $5 per session or $19 for four sessions. For nonresidents, the cost is $7 or $27.
