‘Christmas in Clayton’

“Christmas in Clayton” is scheduled from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, in Neuse Colony and Neuse Colony Estates subdivisions. Artists will sell their works in homes decorated for the holidays. Musicians and Christmas carolers will performs. For tickets, which cost $10, go to ClaytonVisualArtsNC.org/calendar/Christmas-In-Clayton, call 919-550-8934 or stop by Hocutt-Ellington Memorial Library, 100 S. Church St., Clayton. On the day of the tour, tickets will be available at the entrances to the two subdivisions.

Breakfast with Santa

The 50-210 Fire Department will serve Breakfast with Santa from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Highway 55 Burgers, Shakes & Fries, 152 Bratton Drive in the Cleveland community. The cost is $5, with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.

‘A Carolina Christmas’

The Country Music Showcase at Johnston Community College will present “A Carolina Christmas” at 7 p.m. Dec. 6 and at 2 and 7 p.m. Dec. 7 in the Paul A. Johnston Auditorium at Johnston Community College, 245 College Road, Smithfield. Tickets cost $15 in advance and $17.50 at the door. Christmas market

A 4-H Merry Market is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Johnston County Agricultural Center, 2736 N.C. 210, Smithfield. More than 40 vendors will offer items, including crafts. Also, the event will offer pony rides, Fraser fir wreaths, hot soup and sandwiches. For more information, call 919-989-5380.

Christmas at the SRAC

The Smithfield Recreation and Aquatics will host a couple of holiday-themed events. The SRAC is at 600 E. Booker Dairy Road.

• Swim with Santa is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6. Santa will be on hand to hear Christmas wishes. Admission is free for SRAC members. For all others, it’s $5.

• The SRAC invites children ages 6-15 to make a Christmas Mouse ornament from 9 a..m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 14. The cost is $15. To register, call 919-934-1408 no later than Thursday, Dec. 12.

‘Home for the Holidays’

Carolina Music Showcase and the Benson Foundation for the Arts will present “Home for the Holidays,” a Christmas show, Nov. 22-24 in the W.J. Barefoot Auditorium, 303 E. Church St., Benson. Show times are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. For tickets, which cost $12, call the Benson Chamber of Commerce at 919-894-3825. For more information, visit www.BensonFineArts.org.

Jubilee Christmas

The American Music Jubilee’s Christmas show continues this week with performances at 1:40 p.m. Nov. 21-23 and 7:40 p.m. Nov. 23. Shows are at the Rudy Theater, 300 N. Raiford St., Selma. For tickets, call 919-202-9927.

Live nativity

A live nativity is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 6-7 and from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 8 at Smithfield Advent Christian Church, 2777 N.C. 210 Smithfield. A hayride will take visitors through the scenes. The church will serve refreshments.

Parades

The Kenly Christmas parade will step off at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5.

The Smithfield Christmas parade will step off at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12. The parade will run along East Market Street.

Tree lightings

The Town of Smithfield will light its Christmas tree at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at the corner of Third and Market streets. The event will feature hot, chocolate, entertainment and a visit from Santa Claus.
