Peggy Everette Grady

Peggy Everette Grady, 82, passed away at Wilson Medical Center on Sunday, November 24, 2013.

Born in Edgecombe County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Herman R. Everette and the late Ida Pearl Forbes. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Fred M. Grady.

Ms. Grady will be remembered as a loving mother who enjoyed quality time with her family and friends playing Bridge. She retired from the Johnston County School System where she worked 30 years as a Teacher's Assistant at Kenly Elementary and Glendale Kenly Elementary School. Also, she was a faithful member of Kenly Presbyterian Church.

Ms. Grady is survived by her sons, David L. Grady and wife, Michele, Jim E. Grady and wife, Tammy; her daughter, Peggy Jo Batten and husband, Andy, all of Kenly; and her sister, Jean E. Edwards of Wilson.

She also leaves 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren to cherish her memory.

The Funeral was held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at the Minshew-Coley Funeral Home Chapel immediately followed by interment at Kenly Cemetery with Rev. Karen Dukes officiating. The Visitation was held at the Minshew-Coley Funeral Home from 7:00 –9:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 26th.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may also be made to the Kenly Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 666, Kenly, NC 27542 or the Kenly Scout Center Foundation, 2417 Richardson Bass Road, Kenly, NC 27542.
