Christmas

The Voices of Lee will present the “Sounds of Christmas” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at Temple Baptist Church, 1250 S. Pollock St., Smithfield. For more information, call 919-965-6746.

West Calvary Free Will Baptist will present “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, at the church, 309 Powell St., Smithfield.

The choir of Elizabeth United Methodist Church will present a Christmas cantata, “Soon and Very Soon,” at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at the church, 4269 Cleveland Road, Smithfield.

A Christmas program is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at Bethesda Baptist Baptist Church, 4967 U.S. 70 Business, Clayton. The church’s adult choir and Shout Praise Kids will celebrate Christmas through music and a traditional pageant. Refreshments will follow.

Burnell Baptist Church will present a Christmas play, “Seeing Is Believing,” at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at the church, 3720 Old School Road, Four Oaks. The church will present a Christmas cantata, “Seek and Ye Shall Find,” at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22.

The choirs of Sharon Baptist and Bethesda Baptist churches will present “Lord of Glory,” a Christmas cantata, at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at Bethesda, 4967 U.S. 70 Business between Clayton and Smithfield.

Fundraisers

Manna from Heaven Community Outreach will hold a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at 905 S. Pollock St. in Selma. That’s next to the Marathon gas station. The sale will offer clothing for men, women and children, shoes, household goods and more. Proceeds will go to Manna from Heaven’s soup kitchen. For more information, call 919-817-5187.

Programs, services

Revival services are scheduled for 7 p.m. Dec. 11-13 at Salvation Deliverance Temple, 420 E. Market St., Smithfield.

For children

Awana, a program designed to develop spiritually strong children, meets from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Wednesdays at Bethesda Baptist Church, 4967 U.S. 70 Business West between Clayton and Smithfield. Awana is for children from 2 years old to fifth grade. For more information, or to register, visit www.bethesdaclayton.com.

Edgerton Memorial United Methodist Church in Selma has resumed its Mother’s Morning Out program. The free program cares for children ages 3-5 while their moms run errands, clean house, go to appointments or simply take a break. It offers activities, stories, music, playtime and Bible lessons.
