Carriage rides with Santa

Free carriage rides with Santa Claus are scheduled from 6 till 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, in downtown Smithfield. The carriage will depart from the corner of Third and Market streets.

Jubilee Christmas

The American Music Jubilee’s Christmas show continues with performances at 1:40 p.m. Dec. 17; 8 p.m. Dec. 18; 1:40 and 7:40 p.m. Dec. 19; 7:40 p.m. Dec. 21; 1:40 and 7:40 p.m. Dec. 21; and 2:10 p.m. Dec. 15. Kwanzaa in Smithfield

A Kwanzaa celebration is scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at the Family Life Center, 909 E. Lee St., Smithfield. The festival will feature music, gifts for children, free food and activities. Admission is free.

Lights on the Neuse

Lights on the Neuse has opened on Boyette Family Farms, 1620 Loop Road, Clayton. Take a hayride through a display of holiday lights. Also, visit the Christmas Barn and Sweet Shoppe, and visit Santa Claus. Remaining hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 19-23 and 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 24. Admission is $10 for ages 12 and older and $7 for ages 3-11. Children 2 and younger get in free. For tickets, visit www.lightsontheneuse.com.

Live nativity

Clayton – 6-8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Dec. 19-20, in the grassy lot across from First Baptist Church, 411 N. Fayetteville St. During the nativity, the town will close North Fayetteville Street between West Whitaker and West Hinton streets.

Benson – A live drive-through nativity is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 18-20 at Pleasant Hill Christian Church, 929 Pleasant Hill Church Road, Benson. For more information, call 919-894-3212.

Meadow Lights

The Meadow Lights are on display at 4546 Godwin Lake Road, Benson. Through Dec. 31, hours are 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5 to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Admission is free.

Santa in Smithfield

Santa Claus is hearing Christmas wishes at the corner of Third and Market streets in downtown Smithfield. Here’s the remaining schedule: 4-6 p.m. Dec. 19-20 and 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dec. 21.
