Businesswomen salute chamber leader

The Chamber Women’s Business Network has named one of its 2014 scholarships in honor of Earl Worley, chairman of the Smithfield-Selma Chamber of Commerce.

In a news release, the CWBN noted that Worley has been a generous supporter of the group, donating to the scholarship fund and ensuring that the CWBN became a division of the chamber.

“He is the ultimate advocate of the Chamber Women’s Business Network and has attended all the 2013 major events,” said Sherry Harris, chairwoman of the CWBN. “He is a great person who gives back to his community and who inspires all of us to share our talents and treasures. While he does not want recognition and does not expect it, the CWBN wanted to recognize him in this way.”

CWBN scholarships are for businesswomen who wish to further their education.
