David Lee Pearson, age 62, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2014, while in Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center.
He was born to the late Henry and Elease Pearson in North Carolina. He was married to the late Linda Pearson. He was preceded in death by his precious sister, Rosalie Pearson Jones.
David graduated in 1969 from Richard B. Harrison High School; the last graduating class of that institution. He took pride in his artistic abilities as a brick mason.
David had a sense of humor and liked to have a good time. He was affectionately known by many friends and family as “King Dave”. He was an adventurous man who had the natural ability to connect and talk to people. David captured the ability to live in the moment. David also had a humble side especially when he would reminisce of his mother.
David is survived by his three children, Renee LaTrese Pearson of Greenville, NC, Jeffrey Tyrone Jefferson, Selma, NC, Sierrah Sade Pearson, Selma, NC; one sister, Ernestine Pearson, Raleigh, NC; one maternal aunt, Julia Johnson, Wendell, NC; one maternal uncle, Pernell Burgess, Raleigh, NC; one nephew, Dave Jones, Raleigh, NC; two nieces, Teresa Pearson, Raleigh, NC, Natashi Redmond (Kino) Whisett, NC; four great nephews; one great niece; cousins; a special friend and caretaker Lovita Clark, Brooklyn New York.
A memorial service was held at 3p.m. on Feb. 8, 2014 at Selma Church of Christ, Selma.
