Gospel music

The V iew Masters of Clinton will sing at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 18, at Hood’s Grove Baptist Church, 677 Hood’s Grove Church Road, Newton Grove. Admission is free; the church will collect an offering for the group. For more information, call 919-894-5977.

Fundraisers

Plates of barbecued chicken will be on sale from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, May 9, at Powhatan Original Free Will Baptist Church, 3468 Powhatan Road, Clayton. The cost is $8 per plate. To place an order, call 919-612-1964.

Bingo play is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Lee’s Chapel Advent Christian Church, 4154 N.C. 96, Four Oaks. The cost for a hot dog meal and two cards is $15 and $10 for children ages 6-11. Additional cards will be available at the door.

The annual Spring Fest lunch and supper is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Smyrna Original Free Will Baptist Church, 11415 N.C. 96 South in the Meadow community. The festival will feature baked goods, crafts and $7 plates of barbecued pork and chicken.

A spaghetti and meatball supper is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 2, at Grace Episcopal Mission, 111 Lee Court, Clayton. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children and includes pasta, salad, bread, dessert and a drink. For advance orders, call 919-553-2810.

A pancake breakfast is scheduled from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at Applebee’s, 5158 N.C. 42 in the Cleveland community. The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children ages 4-10. Evangelist Hattie Lofton of Smithfield will speak at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, April 30-May 2, at St. Stephens United Holy Church, 1373 Wilmington Road, Turkey.

A Women’s Day Service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday, May 4, at Hickory Grove Disciples of Christ Church, 5260 Devil's Race Track Road, Four Oaks. Evangelist Hattie Lofton of Smithfield will speak, and the Bentonville Mass Choir will sing. Lunch will follow the service.
