Letter: Newly published author says thanks

May 30, 2014

Author appreciates support

As a veteran exceptional children’s teacher with the Johnston County Schools, it has been my unwavering mission to ensure that the work I do makes a positive difference for others. Such is my philosophy as a newly published author.

When my first book, “Fast Escape,” was published, Steve Matthews of Matthews Motors in Clayton was one of the very first to show his support. My deepest gratitude goes to Steve and to Jeff Kimball.

On April 26, Matthews Motors hosted my first-ever official book signing at the dealership’s Community Day event. As if that wasn’t enough, Steve personally bought 300 books and pledged to share the proceeds of the sales with the wonderful Clayton Area Ministries food pantry.

Seeing my writing passion come into fruition through published work has been made much sweeter with this community partnership. I appreciate everyone who came to show their support for my first book, for you have enabled us to provide a gift that keeps on giving through your charitable purchase.

For those interested in purchasing a book and supporting Clayton Area Ministries, there are signed copies available at Matthews Motors.
