Parents: Jamey and Sylvia Hines

High School: North Johnston

Also Considered: College of Charleston, UNC Wilmington

Why Meredith? “I chose Meredith because it is a good fit for me academically and allows me the opportunity to continue to be a student athlete.”

Major: Communications

Notable: Chandler is an 11-time varsity letter winner for the Panthers, having played four years of basketball and soccer and three of volleyball, grabbing all-conference team selections in each of those sports. She was North’s team MVP in girls basketball for each of the past two seasons and was the volleyball MVP as a senior. … Chandler calls the Extra Effort Award she received as a senior her most memorable accomplishment. She also earned all-district honors from the N.C. Coaches Basketball Coaches Association as a senior. … When there wasn’t a ball around, Chandler was still very active at North. She was the student body president as a senior and a Morehead Cain Scholarship nominee … Adjusting to the faster pace of play and shooting better under pressure are the two things Chandler wants to improve on before she begins her college playing career.
