Wildcat Club Golf Outing

The annual Wildcat Club Golf Outing to benefit the West Johnston High School athletic programs will be held at 1p.m. on Friday, July 18, at Reedy Creek Golf Course. Golf event to benefit Ram athletics

The fourth annual Fore! Cleveland Golf Tournament to benefit Cleveland High School athletics will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 25, at Reedy Creek Golf Course. The entry fee is $280 per four-person team for the four-person superball event. A four-person entry with a hole sponsorship is $350. SRAC Summer Camp

Art, swimming, sports and outdoor fun will be available during the Smithfield SRAC Summer Camps for ages 5-12 during eight different weekly sessions. Camp will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. daily, July 14-18, 21-25, July 28-Aug. 1, Aug. 4-8 and 11-15. The cost is $100-125. Triangle Sportscaster Camp

The sixth annual Triangle Sportscaster Camp will be held July 22-24 in Raleigh. This day-camp teaches the fundamental cores to a career in play-by-play and anchoring in the world of sports broadcasting. Campers receive hands-on instruction and training from nearly a dozen major college/pro sports announcers/TV sportscasters from across the state. The camp is directed by Durham Bulls and regional TV play-by-play broadcaster Patrick Kinas. The camp fee is $425 and is open to boys and girls ages 14-22. Smithfield Soccer Camp

The Smithfield Soccer Camp for ages 5-14 will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. daily from July 14-17 at the Smithfield Community Park soccer fields. The fee is $50 per camper. Steve Brush, a nationally certified coach, will lead the camp staff, which also includes Princeton High coach Morgan Brush, a former college player, and Amber Brush, a current player at Barton. Smithfield Railhawks Elite Technique Training

Soccer players looking for additional elite-level off-season training can join the RailHawks Elite Technique Off-Season East program at Smithfield Community Park this summer. Training for U9-U18 players of all levels will be offered. Challenge and rec-level training will be for five sessions and Classic-level training will be offered for 10 sessions. Training will be offered through July 16 and led by Sam Stockley, director of RailHawks Elite Technique, and other members of the RailHawks coaching staff. Multi-sport Camps in Clayton

A Multi-sport camp featuring flag football, baseball/T-ball, basketball and soccer will be held for two sessions (July 14-18 and Aug. 18-22) at the Clayton Community Center. Camp runs from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily. This Sports Camp is for beginners, intermediate and slightly advanced athletes. These five days of camp will teach and expose an aspiring athlete to fundamental knowledge of the area’s most popular sports. Also, the camp will teach cross training activities and personal fitness exercises to best prepare your athlete for their upcoming sports seasons. Smithfield Cheerleading Camp

The Cleveland Rams Cheerleading Camp for ages 5-14 will be held July 28-31 on the Cleveland High School campus. Camp is from 9 a.m. until noon daily and the fee is $80 per camper. Registration forms are available in the Cleveland High main office or from jamielee@johnston.k12.nc.us.

North Johnston Basketball Camp

The North Johnston High Summer Youth Basketball Camp for boys and girls ages 6-13 will be held July 22-24 in the North Johnston gym. Camp is from 9 a.m. until noon daily and the cost is $50 per camper. Registration forms are available at North Johnston High’s main office or via email at nicoledavis@johnston.k12.nc.us.

Junior tennis camps

A junior tennis camp for ages 11-17 for all levels will be held July 28-31 at the South Garner Tennis Courts. The camp will consist of stroke drills, conditioning, game and match play. Camp is from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. daily and the fee is $125-140. A camp for ages 6-10 will be held from 9-11 a.m. on July 28-31 as well. The cost is $90-115. South Johnston Trojan Volleyball Camp

The South Johnston Trojan Volleyball Camp will be held July 28-30 on the campus of South Johnston High School from 9 a.m. until noon daily. Cleveland Rams Football Camp

Weekly basketball camps at J.D. Lewis Center

Summer basketball camps will be offered at the J.D. Lewis Center in Raleigh now through early August. Weekly skills camps are offered for boys and girls at a cost of $100-150 a week for a day camp that runs from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily. Johnston Horse Show Series for 2014

The Johnston County Horse Show Series dates for 2014 are set. These shows are open to all riding disciplines and equine breeds. Summer youth basketball program

The Johnston County Youth Development Basketball League will offer a summer program, partnering with Networks Basketball to provide sessions of basketball and life-skills development. The program will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 23-24 and July 7-8 bat locations in Clayton and Smithfield. The cost is $55 per player. An exhibition night of play will be held at 6:30 p.m. July 14 at the Smithfield Recreation and Aquatics Center.
