Parents: Tim and Georgia Brewer

High School: Corinth Holders

Club Team: Knightdale Knights

Height, Weight: 5-foot-8, 150 pounds

Also Considered: William Peace

Why Methodist? “It has a nice campus and there are great people there. It’s an opportunity to be a part of a great baseball program.”

Major: Biology

Notable: Cameron will catch for the Monarchs. He started catching in eighth grade and immediately knew it was where he wanted to play. “I get the ball on every play,” he said of his reasoning. … He was a four-year varsity letterman for the Pirates. “To see how we came along as a team from our freshman year to the way we grew this year is something I will not forget,” he said. “Playing with the same group of guys for four years was memorable.” … He wants to improve on his hitting before he starts his college playing career. … Cameron plans to go into the medical field after graduation.

Corinth Holders coach Adam Weaver: “Cameron has a strong work ethic behind the plate and a solid arm. I think having two people from the same team (teammate Sam Brown is also headed to Methodist) will really help both of them make that transition on the field and off of the field.”
