JOHNSTON COUNTY – Charges have been filed against a Princeton High School senior who was involved in a deadly wreck that killed two people.
Nathan Pearson, 17, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle last week, said state Highway Patrol Sgt. K.D. Bell. Pearson’s Saturn crossed the centerline on Fellowship Church Road and collided head-on with a Jeep driven by 80-year-old Rose Wilson last month.
Pearson’s passengers, 17-year-old Princeton senior Matthew Stewart and 21-year-old Brandon Baker, who graduated from Princeton High in 2007, were killed. Pearson’s other passenger Cody McConnell, also a 17-year-old senior at Princeton, and Wilson, a Kenly resident, were injured.
Pearson was driving 10 mph over the 55 speed limit, according to a trooper’s report.
